Cookie Policy – Playojo

What cookies are and why we use them
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. It helps the site remember your preferences and recognise you when you return. On Playojo (this information portal), we use cookies to keep the site running smoothly and to understand how visitors use it.
Cookies don't identify you personally – they identify your browser. Most sites use them, and you're in control of whether you accept them.
The cookies this portal sets
We use three kinds:
- Necessary cookies – these keep the site working. They remember that you've agreed to our cookie notice and handle basic session management. You can't turn these off without breaking core functions.
- Analytics cookies – these tell us which pages get visited, how long people stay, and where visitors arrive from. We use this to improve the content. You can decline these.
- Marketing cookies – these track whether you arrived via an affiliate link and help us measure how well our content performs. Again, you can say no.
We don't store payment details, account credentials or anything that identifies you by name through cookies – this site doesn't handle accounts or transactions.
Third-party scripts and their cookies
Some tools we use – analytics platforms, advertising networks, embedded content – set their own cookies. We don't control those directly, but we've listed the main ones:
| Service | Purpose | Your control |
|---|---|---|
| Google Analytics | Traffic analysis and site performance | Opt out via browser settings or GA's own opt-out tool |
| Advertising networks | Measure ad performance, deliver relevant content | Decline marketing cookies on our banner, or adjust ad settings in your Google/Facebook account |
| Embedded widgets | Social sharing buttons, video players | These load only when you interact with them; blocking third-party cookies stops them entirely |
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We've linked the main platforms we work with – follow those links if you want the full technical detail.
Managing cookies in your browser
Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies. Here's where to find the controls:
- Chrome – Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. You can block all cookies, block third-party ones only, or clear everything stored so far.
- Firefox – Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data. Choose standard, strict or custom blocking.
- Safari – Preferences → Privacy. Tick "Block all cookies" or "Prevent cross-site tracking".
- Edge – Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies. Similar layout to Chrome.
Worth knowing: if you block necessary cookies, parts of this site won't work – the cookie banner will reappear every visit, and some pages may not load properly. Analytics and marketing cookies are safe to decline without affecting your experience here.
What happens when you decline
If you say no to analytics or marketing cookies through our banner, we store that choice in a small necessary cookie (ironic, but unavoidable). The site still works – you just won't be counted in our traffic stats, and affiliate tracking won't apply to your clicks.
Declining doesn't delete cookies that were already set before you made the choice. Use your browser's own tools to clear those if you want a completely clean slate.
Updates to this policy
We review this page whenever we add a new tool or change how we handle data. When something significant changes, we'll update the date below and adjust the cookie notice if needed. No dramatic overhauls planned – any tweaks will be about clarity or new third-party services.
Contact and questions
